Become a Qualified Strength & Conditioning Trainer
The UK Strength & Conditioning Association’s Level 3 S&C Trainer Diploma is a nationally recognised, CIMSPA-endorsed qualification that gives you the skills and credibility to train athletes of any level.
What does the course entail?
With an emphasis on practical and interactive learning, you will attend 5 in-person workshops that cover everything from coaching bodyweight movements & safety when spotting barbell movements, to program design for specific sports.
After you have completed this section of the course, you will be required to take a real-life client (this could be a friend or a family member) through a consultation - conducting testing to identify their strengths & weaknesses. Once you have analysed these and the demands of their sport, you will design a 12-week program for them.
Assessments are conducted in a variety of ways - practical assessments at the face-to-face workshops, online presentations 1-to-1 with your course tutor, and written assignments or tests.
-
Whilst both courses will allow you to be insured to deliver gym-based sessions to clients, the UKSCA Level 3 S&C Trainer is for those that wish to understand more about how to train for sports performance rather than general health - whether that be improving a rugby player's fitness/strength or helping a client achieve a personal goal in a Hyrox or Marathon.
In addition, this course is highly practical & interactive with 3 weekends of in-person workshops - compared to PT courses of a similar price that are online only.
-
There will be 5-6 in-person workshops - usually 1 Sunday every 2 weeks over a 10-12 week period (for dates, please see the "Upcoming Courses" page).
After you have attended all workshops, your assignments will be online - either written or 1-to-1 presentations with your tutor. You will require a few hours each week to complete these.
Most people that take the course complete it within 5-6 months.
-
Please take a look at our "upcoming courses" page where you will find the dates for the next course and instructions for how to sign up.
-
In certain circumstances we may be able to accommodate you if you cannot attend one of the in-person workshops. If you miss an assessment day, this may involve you needing to come in for 2 hours mid-week.
If you cannot attend two or more of the workshops, we recommend reserving a place on a future course instead.
